Trump and Truth

In the now infamous scene from The Matrix, Morpheus offers Thomas Anderson, alias Neo, a red pill and a blue pill. The red pill would reveal the harsh reality, while the blue pill would allow Neo to remain in the delusional world of the Matrix. Neo chooses the red pill.

If you are reading this article, you have either taken the red pill and want to delve deeper into reality or are just beginning your journey out of the Matrix.

Donald Trump’s presidency has exposed the depths of the deep-state rabbit hole, revealing an elite ruling class in America, widespread corruption, and a deluge of deceptions. Despite attempts to suppress the truth, it is now out in the open, never to be hidden again. Mark Twain and Madeleine L’Engle said truth can be stranger than fiction and dangerous. Yet Jesus declared, “And you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free” (John 8:32, NRSVUE).

Since 2015, Trump has upended politics, media, and other cultural institutions, acting as “God’s chaos candidate.” He has exposed the global deep state system that threatens to enslave humanity in a one-world, artificial intelligence–controlled system.

Many elites once considered Trump one of their own. Michelle Fields wrote in Time in 2016 that Trump, like France’s King Louis XIV, represented an elite class disconnected from the governed. However, Trump’s actions suggest a different plan, possibly divinely inspired, for America and the world.

Here are some facts about Trump’s stance on God and faith that are compelling:

  • He is the first president to issue an official proclamation for a day of national repentance since Abraham Lincoln.

  • His appointment of conservative judges to the Supreme Court paved the way for the answer to millions of prayers with the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

  • During Easter 2020, amid the devastating COVID-19 pandemic, he issued a statement and asked God to “hold all Americans in the palm of His hand,” encouraging people to “rejoice in knowing that Christ has risen.”

However, the forces of evil are relentless. Amid fake news and AI-generated deceptions, Pontius Pilate’s question to Christ resonates: “What is truth?” (John 18:38).

Solomon wrote that there’s “nothing new under the sun” (Eccles. 1:9). Isaiah prophesied about the deceit and injustice of his time, which mirrors today’s world. (See Isaiah 5:20–23.) Evil is now called good, darkness is preferred over light, and justice is denied the innocent.

The Enlightenment’s questioning of God, truth, and morality led to the deconstructionist views of the late twentieth century, dissolving reality into today’s age of deception foreseen by authors such as George Orwell, Ray Bradbury, and Aldous Huxley.

God is not surprised by what’s happening. He knows the end from the beginning. Isaiah 46:10 tells us: “I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’”

God holds our lives and times in His hands. David, in Psalm 31:15, said, “My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me.” And God often lets us know what He is doing. “Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets” (Amos 3:7).
