We Are Fighting a Spiritual War
So many of us are focused on the physical wars raging that we completely ignore the spiritual actors who ignited them. Ephesians 6:12 (MEV) reminds us: “For our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” Instead of living crippled with anxiety, start warring in the Spirit—one decree at a time.
This spiritual war extends far beyond foreign conflicts—this war targets our country, our communities, and our children. In response to the presence of LifeWise Academy, a Christian group, an elementary school in Marysville, Ohio, is now offering “satanic studies” in its curriculum operated by The Satanic Temple. If you think that the enemy won’t stoop low and attack the young, then you are sorely wrong. We must be mindful of how the prince of the world is operating, as “your adversary the devil walks around as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8, MEV).
In The Lion’s Army, Mike Thompson details his encounter with angels regarding the course of America: “About four weeks after my first Lion’s Army vision, three angels walked into the room where I was teaching a class on third-heaven authority. Only their silhouettes and faint features were visible, but I had seen angels appear in that form before. I told the students, ‘I just saw three angels enter the room, and they are standing quietly at the back. It looks like they’ll be part of the class tonight.’
After teaching about the origin and flow of spiritual authority for about half an hour, I noticed a shift in the anointing in the room. I knew something was up, so I calmly announced, ‘It seems the angels have a message for us tonight because I’m being drawn into the spirit realm and am starting to hear their words.’
Everyone was quiet and tuned in to the Spirit as I listened. Then, I repeated the angel’s words out loud to the students. ‘Stand in authority for your country during these challenging times. The Lord has called the body of Christ in America to rise up in spiritual authority for this nation, then for Israel, and then for other nations.’
The glory of the encounter overwhelmed me. A knowing, or understanding, was impressed upon me—when the founding fathers made a covenant with God for this nation, God foresaw that our trying times would come. He already knew we would be in a battle for the soul of America, which would be under siege by antichrist spirits. I could feel the strong delusions and mind-control tactics of what could only be described as forms of witchcraft and sorcery, and I sensed the Lord’s anger toward them.
The encounter started to lift, and the angels vanished, so I asked the students to pray in tongues for a while. I felt the need to walk and pray for a bit, so I went out the front door of the building to walk on the sidewalk. When I stepped out the door, I was surprised to find the three angels standing there, waiting for me.
They said, ‘We have come from the council of Him who desires you to experience victory in the Spirit. Return and instruct your students to move beyond simply praying and asking God to change the United States. Encourage them to start decreeing over their nation what they believe in. You are teaching them about third-heaven authority. Now it’s time to put that authority into action. There is a time to ask God to intervene, and there is a time to spiritually command what needs to be done. Decree on things, and watch them come to pass. Remind the students that this perspective is not from man but from God. Tell them that warriors use authority to release spiritual energies as weapons of righteousness.’
I immediately returned to class to share the messengers’ words with the students.”
